5 teams, 5 opportunities to gather data

To observe the 2015 Total Solar Eclipse, 5 teams were deployed to maximize the probability the chances of having clear skies. For redundancy, some instruments were duplicated over multiple sites, but each site also has unique instruments.

  • Longyearbyen, Svalbard, Norway – 2 teams (Old Observatory and Airport)
    • Fe XII and Fe XIV instruments
    • IR spectrograph
    • Geiger Counter
    • All sky cameras
    • Visible cameras
    • GoPro video
  • Farroe Islands,  Denmark
    • Fe XII and Fe XIV instruments
